COVID-19 Updates
April 24, 2020
Hello,
Santé D’Or Foundation was founded with the community in mind – more than just the animals we love, we care about the members of our community as well. Therefore, we’re fully committed to the well-being of the animals in our care and to the human supporters who help us tirelessly every day.
For the foreseeable future, and in alignment with the City of Los Angeles’ response to help minimize the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19), our adoption center is CLOSED to the public.
Interested in adopting?
We welcome you to fill out an adoption application and email it to info.santedor@gmail.com. A staff member will be in touch via email or phone to advise next steps. Thank you for your patience, understanding and continued support for the animals of Los Angeles during this unprecedented time.
Our animals need your HELP!
As we’ve done for the last 17 years, we will continue to do our best to help animals in need and our community. You can help our animals by:
Adopting – If you’ve been thinking about adopting, please complete our adoption application online.
Donate – The animals we care for continue to require life-saving medical attention. We hope you will consider a monetary donation today – big or small, your help will go a long way to helping us keep the rescue running and support the animals we care for. We are also accepting in-kind donations, including pet food (even opened bags) and items from our Amazon wish list. If you have these items in excess/unused or would like to donate from non-Amazon retailers, we’re currently accepting:
- Litter pellets (Trader Joe’s litter or Feline Pine)
- Dr. Elsey’s Cat Attract
- Pee Pads
- Natural Balance Chicken and Green Pea (kibble)
- Dave’s Indoor Chicken Formula (Canned)
- Fancy Feast or Friskies canned
- Blue Buffalo Freedom Indoor Kitten (chicken, canned)
- Hand Towels
- Natural All-Purpose Disinfectant (e.g. Method, Mrs Meyers)
- Cat treats
Volunteering/Fostering – Please email us for more information.
Are pets/animals carriers of Covid-19?
No. According to the World Health Organization, there has been no evidence that indicates that pets become ill with COVID-19 or that they spread it to other animals, including people.
Surrendering a pet or stray
If you are considering surrendering your pet, we ask that you exhaust all options before starting the surrender process. If you still absolutely need to surrender your pet after reviewing all of your options, please email us for further advice. Please DO NOT bring your animal(s) to the adoption center.
If you have found a friendly stray or mom and babies, please email us for advice. Please DO NOT bring the animal(s) you found to the adoption center.
Thank you to all our supporters
Once again, we thank you for your compassion and patience. Together, as a community we can get through these tough times together. The work we do is made possible by the generosity of our donors, volunteers, partners, and all animal-loving friends in Los Angeles and beyond. The animals of Santé D’Or thank you for your continued support.
Please follow us on social media via Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram for latest updates. We are operating in a constantly changing environment and some things change on a daily basis.
With love,
The Santé D’Or Team
